Dr Mark re-arrested in another case

Imphal, May 30 2022: Even though the court granted bail to Dr Mark Thangmang Haokip in the case relating to alleged uploading of communal post on social media platforms, a team of Imphal West district police has arrested him in connection with another case immediately after release by the court on Monday.

Dr Mark Haokip was brought to Imphal on May 27 from New Delhi and produced before the court, of CJM Imphal West.

The court granted bail to Dr Mark with Rs 1 lakh bond and two sureties of equal amount.

After Dr Mark could not furnish the PR Bond lakh and two sureties, the court remanded him to judicial custody.

However, moments after Dr Mark was released after he furnished PR Bond amounting Rs 1 lakh and two sureties of equal amount to the court on Monday, a team of Imphal West district police made formal arrest of him in connection with another FIR.
