MP Ranjan distributes mosquito nets

Union minister of state for external affairs & education Dr Rk Ranjan distributed mosquito nets to denizens of Champu Khangpok village, which lies in Loktak Lake, to prevent mosquito bites and prevent spread of malaria.
The distribution of mosquito nets was attended by Dr Rk Ranjan, Cham-phu Khangpok Welfare Committee president Kh Ibojao, secretary H Yaima Singh, villagers namely O Ningthemba, Kh Deven as presidium members.
Speaking at the function, Dr Ranjan informed that the government is trying to make Champu Khangpok a heritage village as it is a unique village located on the floating biomass in Loktak Lake.
He further said that he will try to make Champu Khangpok a full-fledged revenue village as some of the villagers cast their votes in Thanga while some others in Phubala during elections.
Pointing out that the government has been trying to protect the fresh water lake, Ranjan said that the government will try to amend Act or law so as not to cause harm to the lake.
Mosquito nets were distributed to 190 families of the village.
