Week-long Yoga Shivir concludes

Imphal, June 07 2022: 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) on Tuesday organised a mega yoga event to mark the end of the weeklong capsule at Tamenglong Helipad.

In a release, PRO (Defence) informed that "Yoga Shivir" programme started on May 30 in the backdrop of scenic hills of Tamenglong as a part of unit's on-going initiatives to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration and to inspire "Mass Movement for Health and Well Being" through yoga.

The capsule included yoga demonstrations by expert, common yoga protocols, yoga postures and meditation techniques.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, 44 Assam Rifles commandant asked the people of Tamenglong and Kangpokpi districts to come forward and practice yoga as a routine for a healthy and stress free life and help the unit s initiative to promote yoga and spread message for holistic development of mind and body.

Further, he said although we have hi-tech medical facilities, we are still leading a stressful, unhealthy and unstable life.

In this situation, yoga can bring peace to our body, mind, and soul and add more value to our life.
