Bishnupur district records 76.68 pc turnout

Imphal, February 28 2022:
The first phase of state assembly election conducted on Monday ended peacefully in Bishnupur district with a voter turnout of 76.68 per cent.
Voter turnout was 74.31 pc in Nambol, 71.86 pc in Oinam, 75.61 per cent in Bishnupur, 77.13 per cent in Moirang, 92.49 pc in Thanga and 72.02 pc in Kumbi ACs.
In all the six constituencies of the district, no poll violence occurred except for a few instances of tussle between workers of rival candidates in some polling stations of Nambol AC.
District police and district election officer took up all necessary measures to prevent unwanted incidents in most of the polling stations, where voting continued till 7 pm .
