Imphal, June 15 2026:
In a solemn display of grief and solidarity, Churches under the Moyon Naga Baptist Association (MYNBA) on Sunday organised a mass candlelight vigil in memory of six Naga men, including a reverend and a pastor, who were brutally murdered after their abduction from Leilon Vaiphei village.
The vigil formed part of a region-wide initiative called by the Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) .
which appealed to all its constituent conventions and local churches to hold simultaneous prayer services and observance in honour of the victims.
Members of the MYNBA gathered in churches across the association's jurisdiction, offering prayers, lighting candles and paying tribute to the lives lost.
The vigil also served as an expression of solidarity with the bereaved families and a collective call for justice.
Participants urged both the Central and State Governments to take swift action in the matter and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice without delay.
