Governor, CM, others extend Eid-ul-Fitr greetings

Governor Dr Najma Heptulla, chief minister N Biren and many others have extended warm greetings to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In her message, Dr Heptulla stated that the Holy Festival follows the month-long fasting period of 'Ramzan' and it is celebrated in a spirit of peace, love and universal brotherhood.
"Eid-ul-Fitr embraces one and all within its divine fold and teaches mankind to do good deeds to enrich the soul.
The message of Eid-ul-Fitr is relevant today more than ever, when there is mistrust and turmoil all around us", the Governor said and urged all to work together for a peaceful and prosperous society.
CM N Biren said that the festival creates an atmosphere where one is encouraged and supported to become a better person.
"The noble ideals that mark the Eid-ul-Fitr therefore hold important values and lessons that are relevant to each one of us irrespective of religion and belief systems." Agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh, works minister Th Biswajit Singh, Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Y Khemchand Singh, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, All Manipur Students' Union, Manipuri Students' Federation, Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Students and United Development Organisation, while greeting the Muslim community on the occasion, urged them to restrict the celebration within the confines of their homes in view of the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
