Imphal, January 20 2022: Under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority, Manipur State Legal Services Authority in coordination with law Department of Manipur University and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Tamenglong organised an on-the-spot essay writing competition on Thursday.

Regarding the competition which was held on the theme 'Importance of fundamental duties' at Lecture Hall No 1 of new social sciences block of MU, district and sessions judge Imphal West cum DLSA chairman A Guneswor said that the main objective of holding the competition was to remind the people that every citizen in the country have their rights and corresponding duties as enshrined in Part IV A of Indian Constitution.

Later, prizes were distributed to winners of the Competition.

LLM 3rd semester students namely Angelina Naorem, Ningthoujam Sidartha Singh and Linda C Nunlun respectively bagged first, second and third prizes of the competition com prising cash and certificate.

The conduct of essay competition was also witnessed by head of MU law department and associate professor Dr Yumnam Premananda, faculty members of the department and Manipur State Legal Services Authority additional member secretary Sorokhaibam Sadananda.
