Food processing training concludes

Imphal, September 09 2022:
A five-day residential skill development training programme on food processing and value addition organised by Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) in association with Meira Foods under the aegis of Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCD-NER), culminated at the training hall of DSSS, Mantripukhri on Friday.
Organised with the support of Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Department of Agriculture and Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM); the valedictory function was attended by MOVCD-NER, Department of Agriculture project officer Kh Nimaichand, MOMA project officer Donald Soubam, Meira Foods proprietor Shubhra Hanjabam, DSSS director Rev father Biju Luckose, MSRLM State Mission manager Jim Rongglo and DSSS joint direc -tor Rev father Sony Thomas as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, MOMA project officer Donald Soubam informed that the training programme was conducted to update the entrepreneurs on how to convert the various indigenous produces of the state into value added products, how to market them, the packaging process and the loans that could be availed from the state and central governments.
He then urged the entrepreneurs to work hard to become successful in their respective endeavours.
As part of the programme, various products which were made during the training programme were also put on display.
