The statement continued that the distribution was carried out as part of UCM's development plan to make the state self-sustainable.
The present urea distribution system by the government is not effective enough considering the requirement of land deeds.
The government should formulate a policy to distribute urea to farmers on the basis of their respective Aadhaar cards.
In addition, the agriculture department while distributing the urea through the local MLAs, should ensure there is no practice of favouritism/nepotism Furthermore, the government should elect capable nominees in the respective constituencies to provide subsidised urea without any issues.
Volunteers of UCM also distributed urea in several other places including Yaingangpokpi, Thamnapokpi, Sanasabi, Gwaltabi, Wangjing Heituppokpi, Heirok Part-I, Heirok Part-II, Lourembam, Langmeithet, New Keithelmanbi, Pungdongbam, Ngaikhong Khullen, Pukhao, Yairipok and Khurai Konsam Leikai, the statement added.
