29 test positive, CCpur DH faces bed crunch

Churachandpur, May 13 2021:
In all 29 persons, including 13 males and 16 females tested positive for Covid-19 in Churachandpur district in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 315.Out of 129 persons tested in the Rapid Antigen Test conducted at District Hospital and other testing sites, 25 persons (12 male and 13 female) were confirmed as Covid-19 positive while 4 persons (1 male and 3 female) were tested positive through RT-PCR test.
The total number of positive cases in the district till Thursday is 2663 out of who 2293 persons including 729 females have recovered so far while 55 people have died.
As per Churachandpur District Hospital Authority, all the 20 beds at dedicated Covid-19 centre, District Hospital, Churachandpur are engaged/occupied as of Thursday.
The District Hospital currently has 44 D-type oxygen cylinders out of which 24 are full/in stock while 15, including 13 in isolation Ward and 2 in OT, are currently in use.
Besides, the DH has 26 B-type Oxygen cylinders with 4 full/ in stock and the remaining needing refilling.
Deputy commissioner Pawan Yadav has provided two oxygen concentrators for use in Covid Care Centres on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hand sanitizers worth around Rs one lakh have been delivered by Tribal Affairs and Hills minister Vungzagin Valte, who is also the minister in charge of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts, to BJP district president Khaipao Haokip for further distribution to the public of six mandals in the districts.
