Imphal, November 09 2021:
The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) would observe "Athoubasinggi Ningsing Numit" on November 12 in remembrance of its leaders who were killed by security forces in separate incidents.
In a press release, PREPAK appealed to all to shun holding all forms of festivity and light a candle at their respective homes on this particular day.
The outfit stated that the Scheme for Surrender cum Rehabilitation Centre of Militants in North East India was launched under the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1998 .
Saying that the scheme has benefited many cadres belonging to different outfits as per the Government, the PREPAK claimed that the Government, however, is trying to project the armed outfits taking forward a revolutionary movement as an entity that hinders the development of the Nation.
"Such a conduct is unbecoming of a democratic Nation likes India that is striving to become a permanent member of United Nation Security Council, " it added.
Claiming that the Merger Agreement signed at Shillong in 1949 violates Indian Independence Act 1947, Manipur Constitution Act 1947 and Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties 1969, the proscribed group claimed that Government planning to call out the revolutionaries to the mainstream as the Armed Forces failed to suppress the freedom struggle.
The PREPAK also stated that their movement is only to restore the sovereignty of Kangleipak and nothing else.
The outfit also claimed that the Government not imposing AFSPA in Maoist hit States is a clear indication of India not considering Manipur a part of the country.
Further alleging that Kangleipak and India are not related at any point of time, the outfit claimed that the Government of India is deliberately attempting to convert Manipuris into Hindustanis.
The Centre is playing divide and rule tactics in Manipur, it alleged.
The PREPAK then said that a true Kangleicha should never ask the people taking forward the revolutionary movement to give up arms and join the mainstream.
