TNBC convention draws in the crowd ; Convention gathering awes Dy CM

Noting massive gathering of people at the valedictory function of the TNBC quadrennial convention at Nongdam Tangkhul village today, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam expressed that such mass congregation of people at a single venue would be helpful in spreading the Almighty's message of peace and social harmony.
Speaking as the chief guest of the four-day convention, Gaikhangam said the Tangkhul community, rated as one of the most progressive communities, is due to the blessing of Jesus Christ for the Tangkhul's unflinching belief and devotion.
The fact that Rajya Sabha MP Rishang Keishing belongs to the Tangkhul tribe and continues to serve the people even at an advanced stage of life is a testimony of the MP's religious belief and discipline lifestyle, maintained the chief guest.

Commenting on the gathering of over 10,000 people for the convention's gospel song competition, Gaikhangam said presence of people in such a large number at a single venue clearly illustrates that the Tangkhul people are God-fearing people.
Rishang Keishing also addressed the gathering.
Such unique occasion could also be transformed into an event for spreading the almighty's message of love and peace, said the Deputy CM.
Missionary Dr Jerry Spencer from the United States of America conducted the mass prayer at the occasion, wherein Rajya Sabha MP Dr rishang Keishing, Deputy Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly MK Preshow Shimray, Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing, Saikul AC MLA Yamthong Haokip and Wangjing-Tentha AC MLA P Brojen were the guests of honour.
The dignitaries called for peace and harmony in the State while addressing the gathering.
