Tributes paid to Maj Bob with Run for Fun, Voice Hunt

Bob Ralengnao Kathing, the Assam Rifles organised a "Run for Fun" in Ukhrul town today as part of a weeklong memorial event - a third edition that focus on the younger generation this year.

Peeyush Pandey flagged off the "Run for Fun" from premises of Mini Secretariat at around 11.10am and it converged at Tangkhul Naga Long ground.
Altogether 200 students from different schools of Ukhrul took part in the event organized by the 41 Assam Rifles (10 Sector) .

Pandey and 41 AR commandant Col.Gaurav Bose led a group of subordinate officials to take part in the event, which was organized part of the third edition to mark as tribute to Late.

Col.Gaurav said that the event is also basically intended to create a better and cordial relation between the Assam Rifles and the larger public.
On Saturday evening, a Voice Hunt was also organized by the AR at Mission ground-in which 15 budding singing artistes showcased their talents.
A young and promising singer HA Richard was declared as the winner of the competition and walked away with Rs.15,000 prize money.

Bob Kathing was held at Ukhrul Talkies on Friday with the participation of some prominent citizens from the district.
The Assam Rifles kicked off the tribute event on February 18 with football and women's volleyball tourney.
A number of 11 football clubs and 5 women volleyball team took part in the tournaments.

Maj.
Bob Ralengnao Kathing, a magnanimous personality and a native of Hunphun village (Ukhrul), was an illustrious citizen of India and had received a slew of accolades during his time and posthumously.
He was the first Naga Army officer to be commissioned and assigned with scores of political assignments in various capacities.

Kathing also served as India's ambassador in Burma (Myanmar) .
