Kangpokpi, July 24 2022:
Reacting sharply to the allegations of Kangpokpi JNV Selected Candidates Guardian Association, KSO Sadar Hills has urged the guardians association to be aware of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti admission guidelines before making any allegations.
The Kangpokpi JNV Selected Candidates Guardian Association had alleged Kangpokpi ZEO of refusing to countersign the admission forms of those selected students whose permanent addresses are not from Kangpokpi district and demanded admission to JNV of Imphal East or West districts.
"As per the NVS admission guidelines and prospectus for JNV Selection Test 2022 for admission to Class VI, under eligible criteria 4.1, a candidate applying for the JNVST should be from the district where the JNV is located and as per 4.2, candidate should be studying in Class V in a Government/Government aided or recognized school in that district", said KSO.
It also recalled that the KSO has been strictly monitoring the admission process to avoid violation of the NVS admission guidelines and to ensure genuine students get admission as per the guidelines.
"We considered the statement and allegations of the guardians association absurd as the ZEO Kangpokpi is acting accordingly as per the NVS guidelines and there is nothing wrong with her refusing to countersign the admission forms of the students whose permanent addresses are not from the district", it added.
The student body also mentioned that the Deputy Commissioner (Exam), NVS, Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India through a representation dated March 14, 2022, requested the Deputy Commissioner, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti of all regional offices to instruct the Principal of JNV in their respective jurisdiction to verify the residential status and class V/VIII status before confirming the admission of provisionally selected candidates in Classes Vl/IX from the session 2022-2023.The Deputy Commissioner also informed the DC, JNV of all regional offices that in some JNVs, the candidates from other districts are being admitted, and hence it has been decided that for future admission in Class VI/IX, submission of proof of address in the same district along with documents for which the applicants have applied, will be mandatory.
The student body also cautioned that it would be monitoring any unprofessional practice of officials from the district including issuing of false certificates to students who are seeking admission to JNV Kangpokpi against NVS guidelines.
KSO Sadar Hills further urged the Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi to take appropriate action against officials found indulging in such unprofessional conduct.
