Cyclone beat TRAU to clinch Elite cricket title

Cyclone (Thangmeiband) defeated TRAU (Kwakeithel) by 26 runs in the final of the 6th MNCA W Prahlada & W Rainananda
Elite Tournament 2021 -22 at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
The Thangmeiband side elected to bat and set a 192- run target for their opponents for the loss of four wickets in 40 overs.
Narsingh Yadav took centre stage, scoring 75 off 87 balls.

Thoudam Akshaykumar (21).Bikash Singh (20).Jenpu Kamei (17) and Kabrambam Homendro Meitei (14) were other contributors in their innings.
TRAU came up short in their run chase as they were bowled out for 165 in 39.1 overs.
Pukhrambam Prafullomani (41) made a promising start to their chase but his dismissal by Thoudam Akshaykumar proved costly for I RAli as four batters after him fell cheaply.
Anand Naorem's fighting effort reignited the Kwakeithel squad's hope of revival but he got runout at the score of 51, and his fellow batters after him failed to deliver.
Maisnam Raju shone with the ball for Cyclone with t hree scalps as Kabram Homendro Meitei and Thoudam Akshaykumar did their bit with two wickets each, and Loktongbam Santosh Meitei accounted for one.

Amritakaran Yumnam claimed two wickets and Puinachandra Sharma Anoubam took one for TRAU.

Cyclone pocketed Rs 2,00.000 in prize money while TRAU received Rs 1.50.000.
TRAU's Kangabam Priyojit Singh (447 runs & 13 wickets) made a name for himself by scooping three individual trophies for the man of the series, highest run scorer and highest wicket taker.
