State Level Nehru Junior Hockey Tournament : Young Pioneers' School to clash with UNACCO School in U-15 boys final

Young Pioneers' School, Imphal East will lock horns with UNACCO School, Imphal West in the ultimate clash of the 39th Nehru Sub-Junior Boys Hockey Tournament organised by the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium.
Young Pioneers' School booked the final ticket today thrashing Maha Union Govt Hr Secondary School, Chandel by 12-0 goals in the first semi-final match.
Swami Dayal shone in the match scoring thrice (16', 47', 58') as M Manimatum (26', 46'), L Shrinivash (20', 21') and Vishal W (2', 55') netted two goals apiece to ensure the Imphal East team cruise to a huge win.
Th Yaiphaba (30'), and N Mahesh (54') also got their names on the scoresheet for a goal each.
It was a thorough domination by Young Pioneers' School as they took a 3-0 first quarter lead and enjoyed a 7-0 lead till halfway.
They added a goal in the third quarter and pumped in four goals in the final quarter to wrap up the game 12-0.Later in the second semifinal match, UNACCO School overwhelmed Lao Radiant Hr Secondary School, Senapati 8-0 to set up a title clash with Young Pioneers' School.
K Sanjit took centre stage as he hit a hattrick in the second quarter (19', 28', 29') to give UNACCO School a 5-0 second quarter lead after N Gerik (1') and Pebam Jackson (4') netted a goal each in the first quarter.
Ksh Borish (37', 44') then chipped in twice in the third quarter to hand the IW team a 7-0 lead before Sorokhaibam Sanson rounded off the scoring in the 49th minute of the match.
Earlier in a Pool A league match, Lao Radiant Hr Secondary School secured Pool A second place and a semifinal berth with a 17-0 demolition of Thaimei Guiganpou English School, Bishnupur.
K Dinaraj (28', 30', 44', 45') and Milan A (12', 20', 26', 29') starred with four goals each in this one sided encounter as Ng Bishal (T, 8'), M Boynao (IT, 17') and Ch Yuhenba (38', 56') fetched two goals each.
Ch Linjenganba (6'), L Kenish (14') and Sunaraj L (33') on the other hand scored a goal each.
Meanwhile in the clash of Pool B winners, UNACCO School drubbed Maha Union Govt Hr Secondary School 4-0 thanks to a double from K Sanjit (6', 12') and a goal each from N Gerik (7') and S Sanson (9').Eventually UNACCO emerged Pool B winners and Chandel team finished runners up to qualify for semi-finals.
The final match is scheduled to be held tomorrow at 2 pm .
