Selected candidates protest

The selected candidates of Sub-Inspector (SI)/Jemadar, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and their guardians today staged a protest demonstration in front of Chief Minister's residence demanding issuance of appointment letters before the Winter Session of Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The protest rally started from Bengali High School and proceeded towards Chief Minister's bungalow.
However, they were diverted and pushed by police up to Nupilan complex.
Speaking to reporters, guardian of a selected candidate said that Manipur Police Department had issued a list of 315 selected Sl/Jemadar and ASI candidates.
However, no appointment , letter has been issued to these candidates till date, he added.
The written examination was held in 2010 and the interview for the written test selected candidates was held in 2013, he said and added that the final result was declared on March 3, 2014 .
The agitating guardians cautioned that they would launch an intense agitation if the appointment letters are not issued before the Winter Session of the State Assembly.
