Dismissing the news report published in some local dailies on May 20 regarding manipulation and corruption charges leveled by DESAM on its Director in the recruitment of teachers, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur today clarified that the recruitment process was conducted as per the advertisement published during the mentorship period of NIT Agartala which was also approved by the Board of Governors.
In a statement, the institute elaborated that that it cannot independently frame its own RR and the recruitment advertisement was based on the latest four tier norms circulated by MHRD this year and the composition of the selection board is also as per NIT statutes which includes President's nominee with all experts drawn from IITs and NITs.
Stating that the screening and selection process are well documented and conducted in a transparent manner, the institute appealed to all well wishers not to unnecessarily tarnish reputation of the budding institute by publishing unverified allegation as it will not only harm the reputation of the institute but also indirectly affect the admission process and final placement of its students.
