Imphal, May 20 2022:
While stating that KSO, Henglep Block has failed to withdraw the restriction imposed on valley people from accessing Thangjing hill within the May 20 deadline it had set, Committee on Protection & Preservation of the Historical Rights of Koubru & Thangjing Hill Ranges declared that they would impose restriction on Henglep Kukis from entering valley areas with effect from 4am Saturday.
In a release, CPPKT general secretary Shyam Khuman categorically stated that the imposition is a part of the resolution adopted during a public meeting held at Moirang Patlou Leikai on May 6 as KSO, Henglep failed to withdraw its stand.
As KSO, Henglep tries to become an authority, incites conflicts among communities and change the name of the hill range as 'Thangting', CPPKT has taken the decision to prevent communal discord, Shyam Khuman said.
Pointing out that the movement is to protect the history and civilization of the land, Shyam Khuman appealed to the people for supporting the movement.
