Bishupur police recovers arms, opium

Bishupur, May 20 2022:
Bishnupur district police teams recovered five pistols with magazines and five live rounds of 0.32 mm calibre from Torbung Bazar and 1.06 kg of opium from the tri-junction in-front of District Hospital Bishnupur on Friday.
According to police reports, a combined team of Commando Bishnupur unit and 31 AR Loktak Battalion led by Commando OC subedar Y Shaktishen Singh on frisking and checking duty at Torbung Bazar stopped a Maruti Swift Dzire (MN 01AK 9548) occupied by two people for checking.
The duo identified themselves as T Kamminthang (32), son of (L) Ginsuan of Tongciin, Tonzang, Myanmar but presently living at Lungthul village, Churachandpur district and Thangbiaklal Ngaihte (35), son of Lalmalsawm of Nehru Marg, Central Lamka, Churachandpur district.
Ihangbiaklal Ngaihte was driving the car.
On checking the car, the combined team found five .32 MK-I1 pistols along with eight magazines and five live rounds: Both of them were arrested and handed over to Moirang police station for further legal action.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Commando Bishnupur unit, Bishnupur police station along with women police apprehended a woman identified as Nengneihat Haokip alias Hatneo Haokip (23), daughter of (L) Haopu Haokip of Tungjang village, Leimatak, who was found in possession of suspected opium weighing 1.06 kg from near District Hospital Bishnupur around 11:40 am oh Friday.
The arrestee along with the seized drug has been handed over to Bishnupur police station, the report said.
