KSO Moreh block clarifies

Imphal, July 22 2013:
With regard to the arrest of five persons along with arms and ammunition from their vehicle at Khudengthabi Chek Post along Imphal-Moreh Road by personnel of 24 Assam Rifles on July 19, KSO Moreh Block has asserted that three of them are innocent persons and they are not related to the said incident.
In a statement, Presisent of KSO Moreh Block H Thongkhangam Mate said that of the three, two of them namely David Lhungdim and Manasheh Vaiphei, are students.
David is studying in Moreh College while Manasheh in JNV Chandel.
The other person namely S Thanga is a Shaktiman driver.
Executive members of KSO Moreh Block have gone to meet Major Hemanshu of Khudengthabi Chek Post for inquiry about the arrest, specially the students.
However, inspite of repeated requested, the AR officer did not pay heed and even refused to meet the executive members.
As such, KSO Moreh Block appealed to the law enforcing agencies specially 24 Assam Rifles not to arrest innocent passengers, especially the students in future, the President said.
