Training on Wildlife crime control begins

Imphal, July 22 2013:
Two-day training programme on "Wildlife crime control, investigation and intelligence" kicked off at Hotel Imphal with Th Ibobi Singh, Chief Wildlife Warden, Manipur as Chief Guest.
A Roy Chowdhury, Addl Director, Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Govt of India; UK Nag, DFO/West Bengal; SR Majumdar, SP, CBI; L Bilashini Chanu, Senior Scientific Officer, Forensic Science Laboratory, Imphal and G Chatterjii, Addl Director, Intelligence Bureau are the resource persons.
More than 50 participants from various law enforcement agencies namely Forests, Wildlife, Manipur Police, Assam Rifles, CBI, CISF, Customs, BSF, Judiciary, Post office etc attended the programme.

The training programme is organised by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt of India in collaboration with the Wildlife Wing of Forest Department, Manipur with the objective of sensitizing importance of wildlife and various acts concerning to the wildlife protection, prevention of wildlife crime, smuggling of wildlife and wildlife articles, successful investigation and prosecution of wildlife offences with co-ordination of the enforcement agencies.
