22 piggery units inaugurated

Chandel, February 14 2018:
15 piggery units in Oklu village and 7 units in Anal Khullen under the North Eastern Council (NEC) 'Piggery Fattening Units, NERCORMP III districts of North East India', were inaugurated today by SDC Chandel Moirangthem Gautam Singh.
Lily Rose Jajo, Project Manager and staff of NERCORMP Chandel, Chiefs, village authority, NaRM-G, SHG of Oklu and Anal Khullen Village attended the inaugural function today.
Chief guest of the event Moirangthem Gautam Singh appreciated the properly constructed piggery units and encouraged concerned beneficiaries to take full advantage of the scheme and improve their livelihoods.
Lily Rose Jajo, on seeing the successful implementation of the scheme in the villages, assured the villagers that such schemes will be made available in the future.
A total of 100 piggery fattening unit is being set up by NERCORMP Chandel in 15 villages.
The piggery units were facilitated in the village level by North Eastern Missionary Charitable Society (NEMCS) .
During the inaugural function, the village authority and NaRM-G leaders of Oklu village declared that more than 1 hectares of land in the village was kept as Community Conserved Area (CCA), an area where forest, water catchment areas, the flora and fauna will be conserved and preserved.
