Imphal, February 14 2018:
All Manipur Hill District Education Employee Association (AMHDEEA) has warned of shutting down of educational offices from February 21 to 22 if the employees of Education Department posted in the hill districts are forced to submit their service books to the Directorate of Education and digitise it.
Addressing a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today, AMHDEEA president Kaikhanlian Guite said that the new proposal of the Directorate is not clear on the annual practice whereby all the serving personnel made a physical presentation and sign in their service book which, till date, is under the custody of the respective ZEOs.
He said that as per the proposal, all the service books are to be kept at the Directorate at Imphal and this naturally poses for the employees posted in remote areas since they will have to travel up to Imphal with huge financial expenses just to append signature in the service book.
He pointed out that if the service books are kept under the custody of the Directorate, entry and record of leave particulars of employees as well as its sanctioning authority will not be clearly elucidated.
Reiterating that a memorandum in this regard was submitted to the Education Minister, he appealed to the Directorate to arrange the work of digitisation at the Zonal Education Office level.
