TEE facility opened at Sky Hospital

Imphal, July 07 2013:
For the first time in the State, the Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) facility has been opened at Sky Hospital and Research Institute, RIMS Road here today.
Transesophageal Echocardiogram is an alternative way to perform an echocardiogram in which a specialized probe containing an ultrasound transducer at its tip is passed into the patient's esophagus, allowing image and Doppler evaluation which can be recorded.
It has several advantages and some disadvantages compared to Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE) .

The inaugural function of this state-of-the-art healthcare facility was attended by Education and CAP&PD Minister M Okendro as Chief Guest and Chairman of Sky Group of Hospitals Dr L Shyamkishore as President, while MLA of Tengnoupal Constituency DK Korungthang attended as Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister M Okendro lauded the Sky Hospital Group for roping in world-class healthcare facility in the State.
He further said that the Government is striving to develop education and health sectors of the State, and appealed to all to work hard to become self-reliant.
