Imphal, February 21 2018:
After the successful organisation of the North East Development Summit in the State on November 21 and 22, last year, Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA) and International Chamber for Service Industries (ICSI), under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, will organise the 3rd Annual Convention between North East India and Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) at Imphal from tomorrow.
According to an official source, the two days annual convention, which will be held at Classic Grande, aims to discuss the potential of exporting various services of the State like education, skills, aviation, tourism, hospitality, art and crafts and media for entertainment to places like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.
The source pointed out that the convention aims to expand the potential of the service sector of the State and increase the job prospects for the youths apart from providing other benefits to the State as well.
Improving the relation between Manipur as well as other North East States with other ASEAN States, skill development and capacity building and man power exchange will be discussed in the two day convention as well, the source added.
Ambassador of Union of Myanmar to India, Moe Kyaw Aung, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSME), India, Ram Mohan Mishra, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, India, Satyajeet Ranjan will take part in the inaugural function of the convention tomorrow, the source informed and added that Chief Minister N Biren Singh will also participate in the event as well.
