6th All India Police Archery BSF eyeing team champions title, Manipur Police down at fourth place

Imphal, February 21 2018:
BSF continue to hold the top spot with 26 medals on the third day of the 6th All India Police Archery Championship 2017-18 hosted by Manipur Police at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
BSF are setting sight on the championship title and are currently at top spot of the medal tally with 8 gold medal, 9 silver and 9 bronze medals while Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) are following closely with 5 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
With a total of 9 medals including 3 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals, Punjab are enjoying at the third sport while hosts Manipur Police are struggling at fourth place with 3 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals.
Pallavi Das of Assam fetched a gold medal today in the women's Indian Round Individual event with 6 points while Sapana Kumari of BSF struck the silver with 4 points.
Manipur Police's K Madavidya bagged the bronze medals scoring 6 points in this event.
In the Indian Round individual for men, Ch Haricharan of Assam Rifles collected a gold scoring 7 points while his compatriot, Zhokhoto Demo bagged the silver medal with 3 points.
Uttam Wargiary of BSF claimed the bronze medal with 7 points.
In the women's compound individual event, Jhanu Hansda of Jharkhand hit 135 points to fetch a gold medal while Raj Kaur and Priyanso Kashap of Punjab Police finished second and third to bag the silver and the bronze medal.
S Ramakanta Sharma of SSB laid his hand on the gold medal with a total of 145 points while Punjab's Lovejit Singh got the silver with 142 points.
Punduram Gaje of Maharashtra who hit 137 points bagged the bronze medal in this event.
In the recurve individual event for women held today, Gugunkumari added another gold medal for BSF scoring 6 points while Sumita Kaur of ITBP got the silver medal with 2 points in the final.
Ishita of CRPF bagged the bronze medal with 6 points in this event.
In the recurve individual event for men, Basant Kumar of CRPF struck 5 (10) points to collect the gold medal while his compatriot Hurdule Tiriya finished second with 5 (8) points to bag the silver medal.
Kelenmeren of Nagaland Police finished third in this event with 6 points to claim the bronze medals.
Altogether 26 police and defence force units of India are vying for top honours in this championship which will continue till February 23 .
