All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) inspects 'Praja High School' at Lamsang as a part of the regular checkings of schools and taking note of their issues.
AMSU saw damaged school premises (cycle sheds, Mid-day-Meal areas) due to recent storms, no proper fencing of the school premises, lack of teachers during the inspection conducted by a team led by AMSU H/Q General Secretary, Manjit Sarangthem along with AMSU Imphal West (I/W) District Committee President, Ningthoujam Rabinchandra and ten students.
According to the press release issued by AMSU I/W, Networking & Coordination Secretary, Brojen Longjam, the school is listed as one among Government schools with maximum number of students with 540 students but there are only 19 teachers.
It also states that lack of proper fencing has caused a number of accidents as the school stands next to the main road.
Further, AMSU appeals for an immediate intervention by Education Minister regarding the issues and implementation of adequate measures.
