Imphal, April 28 2015 :
The court hearing relating to the appointment of Dr S Rita as the director in-charge will be held on Wednesday.
It was listed for hearing on Tuesday.
However it was posted for the next day.
After the expiry of the term of Dr Chongtham Arunkumar as the director in charge Dr Rita was appointed next.
However Arunkumar had gone to court contending that he should continue in office.
Dr Rita had submitted her joining report to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) authority.
The unpalatable happenings took place since the union health ministry is not giving due importance to RIMS which is the centre for all 7 NE states (excluding Assam) and all India quota students.
Had RIMS been located in Delhi or Chennai the complications would never have happened since the officials would have taken due care.
Besides the recent supreme court ruling was not observed in letter and spirit.
The ruling said that if the charge sheet is not framed within three months the accused official should be reinstated.
No charge sheet could be framed against Dr Sekharjit in the last 7 months.
It is hoped that the court will set the record right relating to the appointment of Dr Rita.
Indications are that some officials of the Union Health Ministry may be pulled up for creating this administrative chaos.
