CADA organises awareness programme

With an aim to spread awareness of ill effects of drugs among youth, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) organised an awareness programme yesterday for students of Atomyaima Junior High School and Chingmei Primary School at Keibul Lamjao Makha community hall.
The awareness programme was attended by Y Ratankumar, president, CADA, Ningthoujam Binoy, Headmaster, Chingmei Primary School, social worker Haobijam Santikumar, Geetchandra Mangang, finance secretary, CADA.
Speaking at the programme, Ratankumar elaborated on the ill effects of drugs and its impacts on the academic career of students.
"Various crimes in society are triggered by consumption of intoxicating substances.
All these can be comparatively reduced once access to such substances are blocked through collective campaign and effort.
Not only will it restore peace in the family but also will be able to establish a developed society as a whole," Ratankumar said.
Speaking on the cons of substance abuse, Santikumar said that using festive occasions or emotional phase of one's life as an excuse to consume inebriated substances should not be done away with.
Individual who lead a healthy lifestyle exercises his or her thoughts for the wellbeing of oneself as well as for others.
