Assam Rifles saves lives

Joupi Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) provided medical assistance to accident victims and saved three precious lives.
A vehicle carrying heavy load with three persons (driver, co-driver and helper) travelling from Joupi to Imphal met with an accident between Mombi and Joupi, under Khenjoi subdivision, Chandel district yesterday, at around 3 pm.
As a result, all the individuals were gravely injured, said PRO, IGAR.
Two of the victims were found unconscious whereas the third person was in a semiconscious condition as the vehicle seemed to have lost control and fell into the ditch, added the statement.
A foot patrol which was on a routine area domination spotted the vehicle.
Reacting to the situation, the party of Joupi Battalion evacuated the victims to Assam Rifles Hospital in a civil vehicle travelling towards Joupi.
An experienced team of doctors and nursing staff gave first aid to the victims at the hospital and were stabilised.
Subsequently, all three of them were referred to Civil Hospital, it added.
The individuals have been identified as Ojit Singh (39), Ukhambam Kumar (45) and Samarjit (31) and" they are all residents of Naodakhong village, Bishnupur district.
The swift action, empathy and commitment of the Joupi Battalion not only saved the precious lives of three injured persons but also facilitated their evacuation to hospital for further medical treatment, it stated.
