86 Bn CRPF conducts one day football tournament

A One-day football tournament was conducted yesterday (December 17) by 86 Bn CRPF at Kanglatombi High School ground as a part of the Civic Action Programme of CRPF under the aegis of Anshuman Yadav, IPS IGP M&N Sector CRPF and supervision/initiation of Kalyan Singha, Commandant 86 Bn CRPF.
The tournament organised on knock-out basis was formally inaugurated by Kalyan Singha, Commandant 86 Bn CRPF in presence of Narayan Balai, 2 I/C; Syed Mujib Ali, Dy Comdt; Atma Ram Yadav, Dy Comdt; Niraj Kumar, AC and Mina Bisht, Gram Pradhan of Kanglatombi village, said a press note of PRO, 86 Bn CRPF.
The final match of the tournament was played between KGYA team 'A' and KGYA team 'B' where in team-A earned the title with a 2-1 victory.
A dance competition was also organised at the tournament venue, the press note continued.
It was participated by altogether 6 youth clubs from Hathikhuwa, Vijaynagar, Shantipur, AR colony, Tispari and Mandir Youth Club and after a close competition Vijaynagar Youth Club were crowned the top place while Mandir youth club finished runners up.
Football tourney winners and runners up teams were felicitated and encouraged with trophies, medal and sports gear by the chief guest, Kalyan Singha who also feted winners of dance competition with cash prizes and consolation prizes to all participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Kalyan Singha said that the tournament was conducted to build a cordial relation between local villagers and security forces; to establish co-ordination for peace development and to promote the youths for their participation in sport activities to spread the message that security forces deployed in this region are dedicated not only for the security and safety of the local public but to fill the gap of inadequacy between public and Govt agencies.
Village Chief of Kanglatombi and the public applauded such beneficial initiative of 86 Bn CRPF and extended their immense gratitude with the hope of many more similar beneficial events in coming future, the press note said.
Small cultural events was also presented by the local community, the press note added.
