Dengue cases continue to rise in Moreh

Moreh, September 09 2022:
The total number of Dengue positive cases in the border town reached 167 on Friday after three more people tested positive.
A total of 13 blood samples were tested at KRSNAA-LAB of sub-divisional hospital Moreh and three of them returned positive, two from Moreh Ward 3 Heinou Makhong Leikai and one from Zion Veng.
Altogether 12 Dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at the Isolation ward of Moreh hospital.
On the other hand, leaders of Moreh-based civil society organisations have drawn attention of the government over the rising cases of Dengue and urged the government to take up immediate action for eradicating the disease from the border town.
According to Meetei Council Moreh president M Thoiba Singh, people residing in the border town are frightened due to unabated increase of Dengue cases despite necessary fogging and surveillance conducted by malaria department.
He urged the government to take up necessary action for eradicating the disease completely from the border town so that the fear among public could be removed.
Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh president Md Rajaoudin, Hill Tribal Council Moreh president Victor Limthang, All Community Development Organisation (ACODOM) Moreh president Th Budha Meitei also urged the government to take up necessary action for eradicating Dengue from Moreh and increase the number of beds of the sub-divisional hospital.
