Naga leaders consultative meeting held in Tamenglong

N.Awangbou, Ex- MLA and president of the Naga People's Front, NPF on Monday said that various governments in Manipur have thoroughly distorted the Indian constitution article 371 (c) which empowers the Hill Area Committee to look after the interests of the Hills.
While speaking during the one-day Naga leaders consultative meeting held at UBC Tamenglong district HQ today, N.Awangbou claimed that the Naga People's Front, NPF has for the first time raised the matter and brought changes in Manipur.
"We are surprised to learn that there has been no doctor in Tamei PHC for the last five months.
It proves that the state government totally discriminates the hill people's right", N.Awangbou said.
The consultative meeting organised by Naga People's Front, NPF was attended by NPF MLAs Samuel Raisom, MLA Ukhrul, Dr.Alexander, MLA Senapati, civil society's leaders and prominent leaders of Tamenglong.
In the meantime, C Arthur W, IAS Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong who was about to leave Tamenglong as Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong has visited the Zaojian Children Home, run by Indigenous Women and Children Foundation, Tamenglong.
He was accompanied by N.Themthing, IPS Superintendence of Police, Tamenglong.
During his last visit at the Home, the inmates and Indigenous Women and Children Foundation staffs extended a warm welcome and acknowledged his works towards the Home.
