Chandel, October 06 2014:
More Chandel Civil bodies have joined in demanding stay order for transfer of Chandel DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum today.
Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) president Ws Kanral Anal while briefing the media in this regard, said the government policy of transferring Chandel DC Robert Singh Kshetrimayum is not accepted by the people of Chandel saying that Robert is highly appreciated and liked by the people for his vision and commitment in bringing better education and health care services for the district.
The DC during his short stay had toured even to the remotest part of the district to see how people in the remote areas struggle for getting education and health care facilities.
Rejecting the sudden transfer of the DC which is not favourable for the people, CNPO appealed to the government to respect the voice of the people and defer the DC's transfer in the interest of the general public of Chandel.
In the mean time, All Tribal Chiefs and Public Grievances Forum (ATC&PGF) Chandel District has also rejected the sudden transfer of Chandel DC and said the transfer must be deferred.
Talking to media here in Chandel, ATC&PGF president Sng Lumdil said frequent transfer hampered development in the district.
He appealed to the Government to defer the transfer so that Robert Singh Kshetrimayum who has a closed affinity with the people of Chandel might have some time to work for the people in larger interest.
Meanwhile, various organizations of Moreh in Chandel district have also demanded reinstatement of Robert Singh Kshetrimayum as the DC of Chandel district.
