Bomb left at Naharolgi Thoudang

A hand grenade was found planted at the entrance to the office of Naharolgi Thoudang daily at around 5.30 am today received a nicely packed Chinese hand grenade as New Years gift which was found today morning at around 5.30 am at the entrance of the office by two watchmen of the building.
Nicely packed in a box, the Chinese hand grenade was found along with the threatening note which read 'EDITOR THIS IS THE LAST WARNING FROM KCP (MC) LANCHEN CHANU; NEXT IS BLAST; FROM COMMANDER HENTHOIBA MANGANG' .
The bomb was later retrieved by a team of Lamphel police around 7:30 in the morning.
Meanwhile, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) convened an emergency joint meeting of editors and its members at Manipur Press Club here in the evening today.
Presided over by AMWJU President A Mobi, the meeting adopted four resolutions.
The meeting strongly condemned planting of a bomb at the office entrance of Naharolgi Thoudang by self-styled KCP (MC) Lanchen group.
The meeting also decried the failure of Manipur Government to provide security to the reporters and media houses in the State despite repeated requests in this regard.
The meeting also decided to blank out the editorial columns of all dailies published from Imphal on January 3 .
The meeting further resolved that in case the Government fails to take up necessary action to provide proper security to the newspaper offices within January 3, the Union will boycott the news related to the government.
