Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal would be organizing a three-day festival of Classical and Creative Music, 2011 from January 4 to 6 starting 3 pm daily at the auditorium of Manipur Dramatic Union, Imphal.
The main objectives of the festival is to promote, popularize and propagate classical music with an academic fervour as well as to explore the talents of the artistes of creative music in bath Matam Eshei and orchestral music of Manipur.
In the Hindustani classical music category, altogether seven artistes (three vocalists and four instrumentalists) would be participating along with their accompanists.
In creative music, altogether 42 artistes including the artistes of yesteryears and of the present day would be participating in the festival.
National Akademi awardee L Birendrakumar, renowned cultural personality of the state B Jayentakumar Sharma and President of All Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) Prof Jodha C Sanasam would inaugurate the festival as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively on January 4 at 2.30 am.
