64 persons killed in blast and shoot outs in 2011

At least 894 cadres of 59 different banned UG organisations based in the state were held by Manipur Police and Central Para Military forces from January 1 to December 31, 2011 while 64 persons were killed in bomb blasts and shoot outs.
Out of the apprehended 894 UG cadres, 84 were arrested in January, 65 in February, 53 in March, 69 in April, 78 in May, 92 in June, 75 in July, 79 in August, 77 in September, 77 in October, 89 in November and 58 in December.
Among the apprehended UG cadres, 12 were of KCP Taibangnganba, seven of KCP Malemnganba, 54 of UNLF, 43 of KCP (MTF) Sunil Meitei, 16 of KCP City Meetei, five of MNRF, two of FGN, 98 of KYKL, one of USRA, 151 of PREPAK, three of ZRA, 60 of KCP, 17 of KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhomba, 25 of KCP (Noyon), 12 of KCP (Lamphel), 82 of PLA, four of MNLF, 60 of KCP (MC), one of KCP (KLA), 14 of UTLA, two of KCP (Paikhomba), two of NNPC, one of UTLF, eight of KCP (MC) Moramba, one of KCP Tabungba, two of MRF, three of KCP (Nando), 10 of PULF (MI KHAN), seven of KNF (P), 29 of KCP (MTF) Kesho Meitei, 21 of KCP (Lanheiba), three of PULF (Azad), 16 of KCP (KK Nganba), two of KRF, 16 of NSCN (K), one of PULF (Keshorjit), 17 of PULF, eight of KCP (Lamyanba Khuman), nine of UPPK, 10 of UPRF, 17 of KYKL (MDF), 27 of NSCN (IM), one of PULF Umar Farooq), two of KNLF, one GDF, three of KNF, one of Maoist, one of PULF (Raj Khan) one of KCP (Khaba), two of KNLF, one of UPALF, three of ZUF, three of UKLF, seven of PREPAK (Pro), one of NNC, one of KRA, two of KCP (Kokai) and one of
KCP (Pamel) .
During the same period, in all 155 small and big arms, 1168 bullets, 101 hand grenades, 114 mobile handsets including SIM cards, 37 detonaters, four Walkie Talkie sets, 13 IEDs, 36 RPG shells, 12 lethod shells, 3 pressure bombs, 4 laptops, 5 PCs, one Printer, three pen-drives and Rs 1,90,300 appox cash were also seized.
Of the 64 people killed in bomb blasts and shoot outs, 25 were UGs, 27 were civilians while 10 were security forces.
On the other hand, in all 286 UG cadres of different UG groups surrendered to the government along with 261 guns, 1414 bullets, 11 hand grenades, five detonaters seven lethod shells and five Walkie Talkie sets during period from January 1 to December 31, 2011 .
