Jiribam, February 08 2018:
The Hmar Students' Association (HSA) B-Huonveng Unit inspected the movement of vehicles over a metal bridge located along Jiri-Tipaimukh road at a distance of about 19 km from Jiribam town, today.
The bridge connects Phailienthang Bazar with the rest of Borobekra circle.
Speaking to media persons, HSA president, Lalrolien Khawbung said that the volunteers of HSA B-Huonveng unit took the initiative of monitoring the vehicular movement, considering the safety of the public, as the metal bridge has been heavily corroded and is on the verge of collapse.

During the inspection, people boarding passenger vehicles were made to walk the bridge and vehicles carrying extra weight were not allowed to pass.
"Jiri-Tipaimuk road being the lifeline of the people of Borobekra circle and Vangai range, it is imperative that the authority/department concerned repair the damaged and corroded bridge at the earliest so as to prevent any unfortunate incidents or mishaps", added the president.
