Mathematica workshop

Department of Physics, Manipur University, organised a two day National workshop on Mathematica at the its conference hall today.
Dean of School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, MU, Professor N Rajmuhon Singh, Department of Physics, Professor N Nimai Singh and Department of Mathematics Professor Ng Ibohal Singh attended the event as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the function, Prof Rajmuhon said that with the growing scope of Mathematica, its direction is also changing continuously.
Mathematica is extremely important in education and research and it is imperative for researchers and teachers to be properly acquainted with the subject.
On the other hand, Professor Nimai said that mathematica is a symbolic mathematical computation programme which is applied to engineering, computing and scientific studies.
The rapid rise in its importance has resulted in the need for the teachers to be properly versed in mathematica, he added.
Many students and researchers from outside the State are also taking part in the workshop which will conclude tomorrow.
