UKLF celebrates its 20th rising day

United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) celebrated its 20th Rising Day in commemoration of its foundation at the designated Nazareth camp, Muvanphoi in Chandel District on Sunday.
In a press release issued by Secretary, Information and Publicity MP Haokip said that the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) celebrated the 20th Rising Day in commemoration of its formation at Designated Camp "Nazareth" in Chandel District, Manipur in simple yet meaningful function attended by three cabinet members of the organization namely David Haokip, General Secretary; 'Lt.Col.' Joshua Thadou, Secretary External Affairs and the Information and Publicity Secreatary MP Haokip in joyous celebration associated with grand feast at the end of the programme with the killing of a ceremonial mithun.
Unlike the previous years, this time, the Rising Day celebration happen in the absence of the general public, chiefs and CSOs etc.
basically because the D-day falls on Sunday and could not invite them.
The main function was moderated by 'Capt.' Samuel Thadou and commenced with words of prayer by Public Relation Officer of UKLF Unit-III Augustine Khongsai that was followed by welcome speech from General Secretary of the organization David Haokip.
'Lt.Col.' Joshua Thadou, Secretary External Affairs hoisted the organisation's flag and received guard of honour followed by chanting of the outfit's anthem.
After that, he led the gathering in five-minute silent observance in remembrance of departed comrades who had offer the highest sacrifices in defending the people and the land in the course of UKLF liberation movement for the Kukis in particular and the people of Manipur in general.
Then he ('Lt.Col.' Joshua Thadou) delivered a speech in which he stated that the outfit's Chairman SS Haokip could not attend this year's Rising Day celebration due to some unavoidable circumstance.
He went on to highlight the sufferings and sacrifices of every rank and file of the organization since its inception and lauded the valuable contributions they have made and also urge them, especially the Kuki Army, to continue the same exemplary acts throughout the course of the national struggle, and ended his speech with words of gratitude.
Public Relation Officer of the UKLF/GHQ K.Mate delivered vote of thanks that was followed by "Mass Prayer" under the guidance of GHQ Chaplain Ngamlet Thadou ,thus ended the 20th Rising Day Celebration .
