UKLF celebrates 20th rising day

The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) celebrated its 20th Rising Day at the outfit's designated Nazareth camp, Muvanphoi in Chandel district last Sunday.
In a press release Secretary, Information and Publicity MP Haokip said that the celebration function was attended by three cabinet members of the organization namely David Haokip, general secretary; Lt Col Joshua Thadou, secretary, external affairs and the information and publicity secretary MP Haokip.
Unlike the previous years, the Rising Day celebration this year was held in the absence of the general public, chiefs and CSOs etc basically due to the day falling on Sunday.
The main function was moderated by Capt Samuel Thadou.
It began with an invocation by the outfit's PRO Unit-III Augustine Khongsai.
Welcome speech from the general secretary David Haokip, hoisting of the party's flag by Lt Col Joshua Thadou, secretary external affairs and rendering of the organisation's anthem and observance of five minutes silence in remembrance of the departed comrades marked the programme.
The programme ended with a mass prayer led by Chaplain Ngamlet Thadou, it added.
