Imphal, March 30 2015 :
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) said on Monday it only wants the Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) to make it public the reason behind the 'forced closure' of Nirmalabas School, Imphal and not ad-hominen argument.
A DESAM press statement expressed unhappiness on the allegation by MSF that the academic atmosphere has worsened in Manipur since the inception of the former.
It questioned the validity of the MSF statement that any group which wants to find out the truth behind the shutting down of Nirmalabas School should come to its office.
The alliance further alleged that MSF is trying to sideline the Nirmalabas School issue and indulging in ad-hominem attacks instead.
In a rejoinder to DESAM over the Nirmalabas School deadlock, MSF in a statement reiterated it stand to close down the Catholic School.
MSF said that the deadline given to the authorities of the school ends on April 1.The student body has already asked the authorities of the institution to sit together to settle the matter.
It pledged that the current ban on Nirmalabas School will continue to enforce by the federation and said the step has been taken as it needs to safeguard the fate of the future generation and to understand the sentiment of the indigenous people.
MSF pledged that it will never allow DESAM to interfere in this matter.
Meanwhile, the Pangal Students' Organisation, Manipur (PSO) has said it will extend support to MSF's stand to close down Nirmalabas School.
In a statement PSO claimed that a special team of the organization has investigated the 'wrongdoings' of the authorities of Nirmalabas School.
PSO insisted that the school authorities are attempting to violate the rights of the students and to spoil their academic career.
PSO is against politicisation of educational institutions and turning them into a business centre.
