JD-U set for ADC polls

The Janata Dal-United (JD-U) is all set to field its candidates in the ensuing ADC polls scheduled to be held on May 30 .
Addressing media persons at its office located at Babupara, Manipur unit JD-U president Moirangthem Tombi said the party will field its candidates in the ensuing ADC polls.
He said the party has already received 20 applications seeking party ticket for the poll.
The party will ensure fielding of its candidates in all ADC seats, he said.
All the six ADCs - Chandel, Churachandpur, Sadar Hills, Senapati, Tamenglong and Ukhrul, have 24 seats each.
At the same time, a delegate of JD-U Manipur unit will go to Delhi in the first half of April to participate in a meeting of all like-minded political parties, Tombi said.
On the water crisis that has hit the State, Tombi urged the PHED Minister to act immediately.
The crisis is more acute in the hill areas, he said while citing his personal experience at Moreh.
