The All Manipur Electricity Employees' Union (AMEEU) has cautioned all the candidates applying for recruitment in Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) against frauds.
Speaking to media persons at their Keishampat office today, AMEEU president Yumnam Ranapratap said that cases of frauds deceiving people with false promises of giving them jobs have been multiplying in recent years.
"The recruitment process of MSPCL comes through employment exchange and if any person is promising jobs, he/she is a fraud", added Ranapratap.
Later he urged the public not to tap power illegally as the State Government has been spending huge amount of money to meet the daily power needs.
A total of 57 million units of power are bought from various power plants for a monthly fee of Rs 24.7 crore and in return only Rs 13 crore is collected from the public.
He added, "In such a scenario the State has been incurring a loss of about Rs 11 crore every month.
We must pay our bills in time".
He also clarified that many BPL families can get registered electric connection for free, but they must pay for the units they consume every month.
