Imphal, October 11 2011:
Decrying the attitude of CRPF personnel posted at Leikhampokpi village, the Makhan Area Union has asserted that lack of action on the part of the CRPF personnel when students of Chil Chil Theological Seminary were threatened with gun-shots by armed persons while working in the field at Leikhampokpi on September 24 last was shocking.
Instead of helping the students, telling them leave the place was totally unthinkable and it does not project a positive image a central police force, publicity secretary of the Union Ab Kanalinang observed in a statement.
Kanalinang further observed that it was expected of the CRPF personnel to react in a brave and valiant manner and give assurance to the scared students that they would be protected.
So, it is justifiable on the part of Chil Chil Asian Mission Society to demand that the personnel to leave their post as the public of Leikhampokpi area have lost confidence on them and their occupation on the donated land has become meaningless.
