CM to meet HM to discuss SHDDC issue

The state cabinet today approved to provide adequate compensation to the trucks burnt during the ongoing economic blockades of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee.
The cabinet also prorogue the 11th session of the 9th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
SPF spokesperson, N Biren after the cabinet meeting told reporters that the cabinet has approved providing compensation to the trucks which were burnt during the ongoing economic blockades of SHDDC and UNC.
It further approved to provide government jobs to the families of 15 persons out of the 18 persons who died in the June 18 incident in 2001.However details of the provision to provide government jobs were not disclosed today.
He further said that 49 Junior High Schools will be upgraded to High School according to a cabinet decision today.
An additional Director for Scheduled Caste will be appointed under the MOBC for smooth functioning and the welfare of Scheduled Caste problems.
It also resolved to change the name and designation of Phaibung SDO/BDO to Chillibai-Phaibung SDO/BDO.
The cabinet also resolved to give age relaxation, to those Ad-hoc employees who passed the TET, in the recruitment of primary teachers.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi will be leaving Imphal tomorrow for Delhi to meet Union Home Minister and other leaders of the Centre to discuss the prevailing situation of the ongoing economic blockades of SHDDC and UNC and the issue of Sadar Hills.
The Chief Minister also met some public leaders of Sadar Hills and discussed the issue to end the current impasse.
