Joint meeting to take final stand on Sadar hills demand

The final stand on the ongoing agitation of the SHDDC demanding a full fledged district of Sadar hills will be taken by a joint meeting at Gamnom, Sapermeina, which will also be attended by different Civil Society Organisations of the plains.
According to reliable sources the SHDDC will be organizing a meeting on October 25 at Gamnom Sapermeina Community hall where different CSOs of the plains will be participating.
Different community leaders will also be present in the meeting.
In the meeting a final decision will be taken regarding the agitations for the conversion of Sadar Hills into a full fledged district.
Meanwhile, demanding for a full fledged district of Sadar Hills, student's community took out a rally at Gamnom, Sapermeina and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the SDO of Saitu, Gamphajol.

The rally was organized by the Thadou Students association.
The Thadou Students Association in its memorandum to the Chief Minister said that the economic blockade which have been going on for the last 72 days has caused suffering not only to the people of the plains but also the students community of Sadar hills.
It has caused more suffering to the sadar hills people and is likely to communalise the people of Manipur irrespective of the hills and the valley.
It further said that if present issue is left pending and unresolved for long it would bring more sufferings, problems and would communalise the issue, causing lose of faith among the general public and the students' community.
Meanwhile the United Club NH 37 demanding a solution to the ongoing problems of the state and to put a halt to the economic blockade, staged a sit in protest at Wahengbam Leikai today.
