Photo exhibition opens at Bunglon

With the aim of creating awareness among the rural community, a five-day long Photo Exhibition on the theme 'Development Initiatives in North East' was opened today at Bunglon High School in Churachandpur District.
The exhibition is being organized by the Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal in collaboration with Bunglon Village Authority.
Addressing the gathering, which included village elders, social workers, teachers and large number of students, Mani Ram Sharma, Assistant Commisioner, Churachandpur noted that Manipur has high potentials for natural and human resources.
Observing the development initiatives undertaken by the Centre Government, Sharma said that 'North East is the future of India' .
Impressed by the collection of photos from the region, Sharma, who graced the function as chief guest, quoted 'a picture speaks thousand words' and remarked 'This photo exhibition on the theme 'Development Initiatives in North East' is really useful and helpful to rural and remote people.

Inspired by the collection of photos, Soizalal Thangjom, retired ZEO maintained that 'this photo exhibition is really an eye opener to know the development of North East in various fields' .
Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Imphal Gin Gangte said 'The main purpose of organizing photo exhibition in rural areas is to educate the masses and to disseminate information about the various developmental projects undertaken by the Government of India' .
The program was punctuated by presentation of choreographic dances by the lower graders of Bunglon High School, much to the delight of the jampacked audience.
The photo exhibition would continue till October 15, conveyed a press release issued by DAVP, Imphal.
