Business meet at Myanmar kicks off

Imphal, January 29 2018:
The two day Myanmar India Business Meet, organised by Mizima Foundation, began at Floating Hotel, River road, Mandalay, today, with opening speeches by Mandalay's Minister of Planning and Finance, U Myat Thu and Consultate General of India, Nandan Singh Bhaisora.
MLA Surchandra, MLA Brojen, MLA Susindro, State Level Committee for Operationalisation of Act East Policy RK Shivchandra and Dr Palin, were some delegates from Manipur side while officials of Myanmar Press Council, entrepreneurs from Saigang and Mandalay, officials of India Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Indian Chamber of Commerce constituted the Myanmar side during the meet Various proposals and issues like organising a meeting between the delegates of the region with the Councillor of Myanmar as well as the PM of India, shifting of North East India land route trade centre to Mandalay, improving connectivity facilities, establishing a consulate office at Imphal, setting up of Visa issuing offices at Moreh and Tamu as well as officially legalising exchange of Rupee and Kyat, were discussed at length during the meet.
The second day of the meeting will be flagged of by Saigang Region Government Chief Minister Dr Myint Naing at Monywa.
